The Mayo Clinic Center for Individualized Medicine (CIM) encourages members of the multi-disciplinary care team and workforce of the future to attend the Individualizing Medicine Conference (#CIMCONX).

We are excited to offer nurses, students, and trainees, as well as genetic counseling students the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to attend the conference.

Opportunities include:

Submission is Closed.

  • Scholarship covers livestream conference registration ($495)
  • Nurses, full-time students and/or trainees are eligible
  • Limited availability (up to 30)
  • Application Requirements (submitted online)
    • Indicate why you are applying for this scholarship (limit 250 words)
    • Describe your passion for/interest in individualized medicine (limit 250 words)
    • Optional: Attach a current resume.
    • Optional: Faculty/supervisor support letter.

Submission is Closed.

  • Scholarship covers live conference registration fees
  • Awarded to the top ten essays
  • Includes networking time with CIM staff during the conference (as available)
  • Application Requirements
    • Currently enrolled in a genetic counseling program/full-time student
    • Essay
      • Indicate why you are applying for this scholarship (limit 250 words)
      • Describe your passion for/interest in individualized medicine (limit 250 words)
      • Describe how you plan to use the knowledge gained from the opportunity in your career (limit 250 words)
    • Submit a faculty support letter (attach via web submission form)

Early Career Investigators in Precision Medicine Scholarship Program

To encourage and support early career investigators, this year’s conference will include an opportunity designed to showcase up to five investigators.

  • Included complimentary #CIMCONX Conference registration
  • Virtual poster presentation
  • Recognition at #CIMCONX
  • Poster presentation* with BRANDT, Inc. award designation

To qualify for this opportunity, early career investigators must meet the following criteria:

  • Less than three years out of a terminal degree
  • Involved in past or present individualizing medicine research
  • Interested in individualizing or precision medicine research
  • Attending a US institution

Please note the following:

  • Letter of interest should be limited to one page.
  • Letter should include your research interest in individualized medicine and goals for attending the conference.
  • Special considerations made for a member of an underrepresented minority and/or student with disabilities.
  • Previous Brandt Young Scholar Awardees are not eligible.
  • Abstract applications that are not selected as the Brandt Young Scholar Awardee will be considered for the conference poster session.
