Description
Register for CIM Grand Rounds as we’re joined by Drs. John Presutti, Isa Houwink, and Adrianna Clapp, who bring their expertise from Mayo Clinic to the conversation on the role of genomics in primary care.
Dr. John Presutti, an Assistant Professor in Family Medicine and the Cecilia and Dan Carmichael Family Associate Director for the Center for Individualized Medicine in Florida, has been a leader in integrating genetics into family care. His journey began when he encountered patients with strong family histories of cancer, who had never been counseled about genetic testing. As consumer genetic testing became more accessible, he noticed patients were placing too much confidence in their results, believing a negative test meant they were risk-free. Dr. Presutti saw a need for a deeper integration of genomics in primary care, paving the way for a more individualized approach.
Joining him is Dr. Isa Houwink, a dual-expert in Family Medicine and Genetics and Pharmacogenetics in Primary Care at Mayo Clinic, Rochester. She brings a wealth of experience in family medicine with a focus on personalized patient care, contributing a unique perspective from Mayo's Rochester team.
We will also be joined by Dr. Adrianna Clapp, an Assistant Professor and Senior Associate Consultant in Family Medicine based in Jacksonville, Florida. She is dedicated to making innovative, individualized care accessible for every patient.
Together, these three experts will share insights on how genomics can enhance preventive care and transform patient outcomes in primary care settings.
